The daughter Ziba Murat called the allegations "absurd". Gulshan's sister, Rushan Abbas, said they came from the activism of her and her brother Rishat Abbas, both of whom are United States based.
"We are pledged to work to defend our people's rights and to stand up for justice, and now our sister is being denied justice as a punishment," said Rushan.
So, Rushan Abbas, a CIA asset that worked for the United States In Guantanamo Bay, where human rights abuses are just another Tuesday, does she claim she is concerned about "the rights of her people" and "justice"? Yeah, I totally believe that.
Not to mention, Uyghurs are being held captive in Guantanamo Bay, and this is what she had to say about it when asked:
As an American, I am very proud to work for the US government in Guantánamo, where I translate for 22 Uighur inmates. The Uyghurs in Guantánamo were treated with dignity and rights with respect. Would you like to contact them and ask how they feel about GTMO? They would tell you that their life inside the GTMO cell blocks was better than the life of normal Uyghurs outside the concentration camps. GTMO prisoners could fast, pray, they weren't forced to eat pork. They had Quran and praying carpets.
Treated with rights and respect in Guantanamo Bay, you can't make this shit up even if you've tried.
